Get Abs that Look Awesome With Good Diet And Exercise

July 22, 2012

Building a tummy which has ‘washboard’ or ‘six pack’ abs has always been a part of wild fantasies for men around the world. The sad part is that, building them requires lots of physical and mental strength. Any method that claims to build abs within a short period is actually flawed because, in almost all cases, the belly is covered with a layer of fat all around. So in order to build your abs, you need to get rid of the fat first!

Six Pack Abs picture

Everyone wants six pack abs!

Reducing belly fat isn’t too difficult; there are lots of exercises that can help you on that count. Once you finished there, you can now concentrate entirely on exercises to get abs.The best way to begin working on your abdominal muscles is by following an intensive cardiovascular exercise routine. In optimal cases, one must include a minimum of four cardio exercises per week; the more you can incorporate the better.

Doing high intensity exercises such as heavy bag boxing, sprinting, sports etc. also works effectively in building great abs. Such exercises will burn fat 6 time more than low intensity workouts. These exercises also increases the R.M.R level and keep your body healthy and in perfect shape.

Make sure you work out in such a way that sweat comes out from the body. It keeps your body hydrated and helps you to increase the intake of water. Plan your daily schedule accordingly which should include two hours of exercise to the maximum. It is better to consult your doctor before you go to gym. A doctor can diagnose your body and he will let you know what your body is capable of. Yoga and Aerobics were other forms of exercise that helps you to retain Abs. As we see, the present generation boys go crazy about Abs and find several ways to gain it.

Besides the best exercises to get abs you need to concentrate on the best diet which helps a lot in getting positive results. Never use pills that help you to lose weight. In fact, if you consume these pills, weight of the body increases. Some people say that it is good to eat food in the right time. But have your food only whenever you feel hungry.

Consume the foods that are rich in vitamins, proteins and that help balance your metabolism. Another truth about Abs is doing crunches and sit-ups take a lot time to achieve flat Abs. Do not spend more amount of money, as there are other ways to do it naturally. Do not use the devices like Ab Belts. Avoid fried foods and junk foods which consume more oil. Make sure you include fruits in your diet regularly. However, the diet varies for men and women.

These are one of the many different techniques that people all over the world are employing in order to attain that flawless, attractive and confidence-boosting flat, ripped abs.

What Bladder Pain Means

July 13, 2012

Does your bladder hurt?

Most people don’t know what it means, but often when your bladder hurts it could mean you have a bladder infection and/or a UTI (Urinary Tract Infection). Often, the urinary tract infection will hit first, followed by a bladder infection soon after if you do nothing to take care of it.

Of course, pain in your lower abdomen could be caused by a myriad of issues, so you shouldn’t rush to conclude anything from this brief article (or anywhere online). Always get a medical opinion before trying to treat yourself or use any home remedies.

UTI’s happen most often in women because their urethra is exposed more and can be vulnerable to bacteria from intercourse or the environment. Men can also get UTI’s and bladder infections, and they’re common after surgeries on hernias or the groin area.

Doctors will often prescribe antibiotics for a bladder infection or UTI and they definitely help. In some severe cases of bladder infections, antibiotics are necessary or serious damage could occur as the infection spreads. However, I’ve found a powerful natural remedy for UTIs and bladder infections taught to me by my parents (who are both doctors).

Natural Bladder Infection Remedy

The secret ingredient is… cranberries!

Cranberries dramatically help prevent the bacteria from entering the body through the Urethra. In fact, cranberries are so effective for UTIs that researchers have shown it can turn an infection around in just 8 hours or less! Indeed, from personal experience, I can say that cranberries are the MOST effective treatment for bladder infections or urinary tract infections. They seemed to put a stop to the infection even faster than antibiotics and without all the harmful side effects.

Cranberries picture

Cranberries are a powerful natural remedy for urinary tract infections!

Researchers noticed in petri dishes that cranberry juice prevents e. coli bacteria from sticking together – making it harder for them to multiply and cause damage.

You can either eat cranberries prepared in a dish, in dry powder capsule form, or just drink cranberry juice (the most common way to take it). This process works similarly to bacteria in the urethra, making it hard for the bacteria to stick together and multiply, allowing your body’s immune system to eliminate the harmful bacteria very rapidly.

How To Reduce Indoor Allergens for Better Health

July 10, 2012

There are 35 million US residents who struggle with seasonal allergies. However, there are many more who suffer from allergies year round. Symptoms range from sneezing, runny noses, itchy throats and eyes to skin rashes.

Fortunately, there are some simple and effective methods to help reduce allergy symptoms and minimize their negative impact on your health.

HEPA Filters

For starters, if you have allergies of any type you may consider using in a high quality HEPA air purifier. A HEPA air purifier is a beneficial way to help alleviate symptoms. This device effectively filters allergens and irritants down to .3 micron, including dust particles, pollen, soot, pet allergens and dander. These air purifiers also eliminate viruses, mold spores and bacteria and provide an overall healthier environment in which to live.

Other Indoor Air Health Tips

  • Wash your sheets and clothes frequently to remove pollen and other allergens that can find its way into your habitat on your clothing from the outdoors. We all know that clothes hung to dry outdoors on a pleasant spring day smell great, but they also trap all of the allergens within the fabric, so use your clothes dryer.
  • When you enter indoors for the day, take a shower or bath to wash off any allergens that may have collected on your body.
  • Shampoo your carpets on a regular basis and vacuum at least twice a week, more if you can.
  • If you can do without your carpet, by all means get rid of it. Wood or tile floors are easier to keep clean.
  • Do not wear your footwear in the house, as allergens make their way in on your shoes and take up residency in your carpets.
  • Get rid of drapes and window coverings that are made of fabric as they collect large amounts of dust. Less dust particles = less allergy symptoms.
  • On days when you know the pollen count or air pollution levels are very high, stay inside if at all possible with the windows shut and operate your HEPA air purifier on the higher speed.
  • If the pollen count or air pollution level is extremely high, you may want to consider wearing a face mask that will filter out airborne particles, at least around the house.

There is no ideal way to completely prevent seasonal allergies. However, by following these precautionary measures, your allergies can hopefully be reduced to a point in which they are tolerable. Above all, make certain to seek help from your physician who may suggest medication or other natural alternatives, or refer you to an allergy or pulmonary specialist.

About The Author: As mentioned in the article, using a HEPA air purifier helps to eliminate airborne pollutants and allergens from your indoor air. At Clean Air Plus, we sell the highest quality HEPA air purifier models for optimal filtration and a healthy indoor environment.

3 Home Remedies To Get Rid Of Yeast Infections

July 6, 2012

Yeast infections are extremely common in men, women, and children alike. Oftentimes, these infections can go away on their own, thanks to the body’s natural defense system. When this infection is prolonged, however, the body may need a little help.

Men often report itching and flaking of the skin as a primary symptom of having a yeast infection. Women can experience similar symptoms, commonly under the breasts. Of course, women also experience symptoms of yeast infections in the genital area, usually a discolored discharge that may or may not be accompanied by a “yeasty” odor. Children, particularly infants, can suffer from oral thrush, where a milky film builds up inside the mouth that cannot be easily removed.

The good news? Home remedies can be very useful in treating yeast. Of course, be sure to talk to you doctor before using any home remedy.

Probiotics. Yeast is naturally occurring in and on the body. When yeast and bacteria experience an imbalance, a candida overgrowth can occur. Probiotics help to restore the balance the body needs to ward of yeast naturally. A paste can be made by breaking open probiotic tablets and mixing the contents with water. Then, apply topically to the skin. Some nursing mothers are able to treat oral thrush by taking probiotics on a regular basis. The probiotics transfer into the breast milk, and restore balance in the infant’s digestive tract.

Coconut oil. This oil is not only a powerful antifungal, but it also has antibacterial properties. This is an especially useful remedy for women wondering if they have yeast infection, or bacterial vaginosis: coconut oil can be used to ward off both of these common infections. It also works wonders when applied topically to the skin of both men and women. This oil absorbs into the skin quickly, and is less likely to leave a residue than other cooking oils.

Dietary changes. Do you find yourself craving sugar, alcohol, and carbohydrates often? If this is the case, candida may have spread into the body from the digestive tract. Dietary changes are a must for alleviating yeast inside the body, particularly when the sufferer is experiencing reoccurring infections.  Stick to health food items like fruits, vegetables, and meats. Avoid carbohydrate-rich foods.

For more detailed information, I highly recommend the book: The Candida Yeast Infection Cure: Quick and Easy Yeast Infection Home Remedies, Plus over 100 Candida Recipes to Fight Candida Inside and Out. It has been extremely helpful to me in fighting yeast. I think I have read every book on the subject, but this one is by far my favorite! Besides the caring tone the author has written the book in, the advice is extremely useful. I have noticed that a lot of the comparable diets are way too strict to follow, nearly impossible. This book shows you the ins and outs, and most importantly, how to stay on track and conquer yeast once and for all.

Vegan Black Beans And Rice picture

Black Beans & Rice Ingredients:

2 cans drained and rinsed black beans (or you can use 1 cup dried black beans and make it the traditional way!)
1 1/2 cups uncooked brown rice (long grain is more traditional)
1 1/2 cup water
1 Tbsp Olive Oil
3 stalks celery, trimmed and diced
1 large onion, diced
1 bell pepper, diced
5 cloves fresh garlic, smashed and minced
1 tsp fresh ginger, minced or grated finely
1 tsp ground cumin
1 tsp ground coriander
1 tsp oregano
1/4 tsp hot pepper (you can use chipotle, cayenne, jalapeno, whatever you have for a little spice)

Bean Sauce Ingredients:

1 cup water
1 bay leaf
1 vegetable bouillon cube
1 Tbsp Braggs liquid aminos or soy sauce
1 Tbsp tomato paste
Himalayan Sea Salt to taste
6 Tbsp fresh minced cilantro for garnish
1 lime sliced in wedges, to serve with the rice & beans

Bean Cooking Directions (From Scratch):

  1. Stovetop: Soak the dried beans for 6 – 8 hours in cold water. Drain the beans, add cold water to cover them, bring to a boil, skim off the foam on top, cover the beans and let simmer 2 hours until just tender. Most people undercook their beans the first time so make sure to cook them long enough!
  2. Slow Cooker: After boiling & skimming, drain beans and add to cooker with cold water to cover. Cover and cook on low for 6 – 8 hours, just until tender
  3. Pressure Cooker: Skip the soaking and pre-boiling. Add rinsed beans to pressure cooker with cold water about 2 inches above the beans. Lock the pressure cooker, bring up to high pressure, reduce heat to low and cook for 9 minutes. Remove from heat and run the cooker under cold water to reduce pressure quickly.

Bean Sauce Directions:

  1. Drain the beans, reserving the cooking liquid
  2. Add the beans, 1 1/2 cups cooking liquid, bay leaf, bouillon cube, Braggs or soy sauce, tomato paste, and salt to taste.
  3. If you’re using canned beans, drain the beans and rinse them, but reserve the liquid!
  4. Simmer the bean sauce while you prep the veggies and parboil the rice

Brown Rice Cooking Directions:

  1. Wash and rinse the rice twice, draining well
  2. Add to 2 qt saucepan with 2 1/4 cups cold water
  3. Bring to a boil, cover and simmer for 30 minutes
  4. Remove brown rice from heat and set aside. It should be chewy, and all water absorbed at this point

Cuban Rice & Black Beans Directions:

While the bean sauce is simmering and the rice is cooking:

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees
  2. Heat 1 Tbsp cooking oil on medium low in a dutch oven or sauté pan (oven proof) on top of the stove
  3. Chop the garlic, onion, ginger, pepper & celery
  4. Stir fry the veggies until the onion is translucent
  5. Add the spices and oregano and stir for 2 more minutes
  6. Add the brown rice and mix with the veg
  7. Stir the beans and sauce into the rice and veg
  8. Cover, transfer to the preheated oven, and bake for 30 minutes
  9. Serve immediately, garnished with chopped cilantro and lime wedges

Can yoga help me lose weight?

June 8, 2012

Yoga is in fact an excellent option if you’re wanting to lose weight. Yoga is a very relaxing type of exercise. It is not high impact, but it is very effective. One of the main key factors in weight gain is stress. Yoga addresses this from two fundamental points of view. On the one hand you have the fact that yoga is in a sense a stress reliever. It focuses on meditation and relaxation techniques. On the other hand you have yoga as primarily an exercise of flexibility but also as an exercise of conditioning.

Yoga For Weight Loss

Yoga is a great way to lose weight!

Weight loss is possible without high-impact exercises. Yoga increases your overall body tone and function. It exercises both your mind and your body. It keeps you in a condition to where optimal performance is possible physically and mentally. When yoga is taken seriously it can be a very effective weight loss routine.

Of course, you’re going to have to incorporate a healthy balanced diet. You would have to do this with any exercise routine to get maximum results. You’re also going to have to remain disciplined and focused. Your primary goal should be to lose weight at the end of the day. Yoga should not be considered an easy way around exercise, because is not as easy as you may think.

Though yoga is very graceful and fluid it will work your body, your muscles and your mind. The moves and positions that is introduced to you during yoga classes and/or routines is very complex. It is recommended to start at a beginner’s level. Just because something looks easy doesn’t mean that it always is. It is also recommended that you get with your doctor before beginning any diet or exercise routine. Yoga is no exception to this rule.

When you are ready to begin, look into what type of classes will be available to you on your time frame and schedule. You want to make sure that you’re enjoying it, or you just not in sick to it. Another thing that you should do is to incorporate everything you do in to a workout method.

When you go somewhere park farther out and walk in, take the stairs and so forth. Recognize that everything you do throughout your day including engaging abdominal muscles when you’re sitting in a computer chair can lead to beneficial results in body shaping and performance. When you couple all of this with a fantastic yoga routine and a great guy you’re all set.

How To Get Ripped Like Chris Evans

June 6, 2012

Chris Evans looks like a badass in Captain America. Especially since he packed on over 25 lbs of muscle for the movie. How did he do it so fast?

Chris Evans Workout

It took Chris 4 months to bulk up and he worked out 2 hours a day. His trainer, Simon Waterson, made sure he stuck to it every day and kicked his butt when he wasn’t giving the workouts everything he had.

The key to building muscle mass is to workout until you reach muscle failure – and then push as hard as you can for at least 5 seconds longer. This is when you lift the weight for the last time – and you CAN’T POSSIBLY lift the weight one more time – but you try as hard as you can anyway to push the weight up for at least 5 seconds.

What happens here is that muscle failures triggers a muscle reaction that releases growth hormones which allow you to build muscle faster and much bigger.

Chris Evans Interview

In this interview with PopSugar, Chris shares his workout and diet secrets that helped him put on muscle so fast for his role in Captain America. Enjoy!
